Webchat

When you begin a session a new browser window will open.

At the end of your session, return to the website by clicking the 'exit' button in the bottom right hand corner.

You can have a careers webchat with an adviser right now or read on below to find out how it works.

About webchat

You may notice slight time delays during the conversation while an adviser is finding out the right information and thinking about their response to you.

When all advisers are busy, requests for webchat are kept in a queuing system.

Please do not open more than one window at a time. This will not shorten your wait as the web chat you opened first will be the first to be answered. We appreciate your patience during busy times.

The National Careers Service website contains a wide range of information - why not also browse the site to see if you can find the information you need?

Confidentiality

We are a confidential service which means your information will not be shared outside the service.

Cookies

Session cookies are used during the webchat to maintain the webchat with an adviser.

A cookie is also used to help recognise customers who have previously used the National Careers Service webchat. This remains on your computer and only stores the date and time you last used the webchat.

Webchat is available from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week
