What you will need

It takes around 15 minutes to book your practical test online. You'll need:

• your valid Great Britain or Northern Ireland provisional driving licence number
• your credit or debit card details
• a theory test pass date and certificate number (if appropriate)
• your driving instructor's personal reference number so you can check they're available - but you can book without doing this

When you can book online

You can use the online booking service between 6.00 am and 11.40 pm, Monday to Sunday.

You can find your theory test pass certificate number online if you have lost your original letter.

How to pay for your test

DSA can only accept the following cards:

• Delta
• MasterCard
• Visa
• Visa Electron

• Driving test fees (motoring section)

Retaking your test

If you took your practical test today but didn't pass, you can take another test of the same category after:

• three clear working days for a lorry, bus or motorcycle module one test
• ten clear working days for a car or motorcycle module two test
