The Edexcel Level 2 NVQ in Playwork gives recognition of candidates' skills, knowledge and understanding. It allows candidates to gain a qualification in the workplace that relates to their job and promotes good working practice. The Edexcel Level 2 in Playwork is appropriate for staff working directly with children and young people in a setting whose main purpose is to provide children and young people with opportunities for freely chosen, self-directed play. These staff do not have full responsibility for the play environment but make a significant contribution to supporting play. Such roles include: before or after school workers, nursery and school setting workers, playworkers and those working in youth work settings.
