This course is for those who want to develop their fashion skills into career prospects. This work is recorded in a personal portfolio for interview purposes.
What will I study?
This course offers high level training in creative development using strong technical skills, combined with research based production. You will explore design, pattern cutting, garment construction using industrial methods and will be given an introduction to Computer Aided Design. The workshops and studios are well equipped with industrial machinery and you will work in realistic working environments. The course includes regular visits to exhibitions, galleries and museums, and you will have the chance to show off your work at the exciting end of year Fashion Show. All students are encouraged to develop a strong portfolio to enable them to progress on to higher education. Lewisham College has strong links with higher education institutions including the London College of Fashion and Ravensbourne College.

What will I study?
This course is for people who have some fashion experience or have completed a BTEC Introductory Diploma in Art and Design. You will learn how to research and explore your ideas and use your designs as inspiration for your fashion and textiles work. You will work in well equipped fashion workshops and studios and develop your creative and practical skills. You will have the opportunity to show your work at the annual end of year Fashion Show. Visits to exhibitions, galleries and museums are a regular feature of the course and you are encouraged to produce portfolios which will help with your progression.
