The number of deaf and hard-of-hearing students entering further and higher education is increasing; a growing number of these students rely upon note-takers in order to access their courses and curriculum; a good set of notes not only acts as a tool for revision but also can act as a reference to let deaf students know what is happening in the class situation; this course therefore concentrates (in the main) on notes that are handwritten, in English and are available to the deaf student immediately after the lecture; the aim of the course is to give students an opportunity to develop their skills in note-taking and also to learn the principles of note-taking for a 3rd person.
