To renew the photo on your driving licence you must provide your UK passport number, which must have been issued within the last five years. DVLA will attempt to retrieve the photo and signature from your passport for use on your driving licence. If this is not possible, or you do not want DVLA to use the photo on your passport, you cannot renew the photo on your licence online.
