Interviews and assessment days

Before you're offered an internship, you may be asked to attend an interview or assessment day.

Interviews are a two-way process. The employer gets to assess your suitability for the internship, but it's also an opportunity for you to ask questions and make sure the placement is right for you.

Some companies run extended selection procedures, called assessment days or assessment centres. These may be held on employers' premises, or in another location - like a hotel.

You may be asked to take part in group exercises, complete some tests or make a presentation. The employer can see you in action - and you get more than one chance to show what you can do.
