Referring a dissolved company asset to the Treasury Solicitor

There are many reasons you may need to refer a dissolved company asset to the Treasury Solicitor. You may have been directly or indirectly affected by the closing down of a company (dissolution) or just wish to purchase an asset from the Treasury Solicitor previously owned by a dissolved company.

Reasons for referring

Reasons for referring a dissolved company asset are likely to include:

  • you are a lessee whose freehold was owned by the dissolved company
  • you wish to purchase land owned by the dissolved company
  • you are adversely affected by land owned by the dissolved company
  • you have a mortgage or charge on your property in favour of the dissolved company
  • you wish to purchase other assets of the dissolved company such as shares, trade marks or copyrights
  • you are a shareholder trying to retrieve monies held by the dissolved company

If any of the above reasons apply or you just wish to let the Treasury Solicitor know of an asset, then you can refer an asset of a dissolved company to the Treasury Solicitor by completing the online 'dissolved company notification' referral form using the link below. You will be required to confirm:

  • your contact details
  • company full name
  • company registration number
  • details concerning the asset

Or you can write to the Treasury Solicitor confirming the above information.
