Benefits adviser:

• the results provided by the benefits adviser are an estimate of what you might get
• the results are based only on your answers to benefits adviser questions
• the questions asked by the benefits adviser and the results given do not form part of a claim to any benefit or tax credit
• a claim for benefit or tax credits can only be made by completing the appropriate claim form and sending it to the office that deals with the benefit or tax credit, or where available by submitting it online
• the answers you give will not be used by the DWP in any way other than to advise you what benefits and tax credits you may be entitled to

Jobseeker’s Allowance online:

• will not tell you if your claim has been successful
• may use the information you have provided for other purposes relating to the work of the DWP – some information may be given to other government bodies as permitted by law
• will be based on the information you supply – please make sure that this is as complete and accurate as possible

A copy of your Jobseeker’s Allowance online claim form is not a legal document and is for your information only.

Your online claim for Jobseeker’s Allowance:

• could be delayed if there is missing or incorrect information
• is normally considered from the date it is submitted online – you still need to attend an interview before your claim is considered to be ‘properly made’ (this is when you sign your customer statement at your New Jobseeker’s Interview)

State Pension online:

• will not tell you if your claim has been successful
• may use the information you have provided for other purposes relating to the work of the DWP – some information may be given to other government bodies as permitted by law
• will be based on the information you supply – please make sure that this is as complete and accurate as possible
• could be delayed if there is missing or incorrect information
