Dance and Drama Awards: how much you could get

If you get a Dance and Drama Award, it will cover most of your fees for attending one of a small number of private, specialist schools. But you'll still have to make a personal contribution.

Dance and Drama Awards: what could you get?

If you get a Dance and Drama Award, it will cover the majority of your tuition fees. However, you will also need to make a personal contribution.

For the 2010/11 and 2011/12 academic years, this personal contribution is £1,275.

The Dance and Drama award is given regardless of your household income. But whether you get additional help depends on your circumstances.

Students from England, Scotland and Wales

If you come from England, Scotland or Wales you may be able to get additional help with living costs and childcare - over and above the Dance and Drama Award.

How much extra you get will depend on your family's annual household income. If your family's income is above £33,000, you will not be entitled to any extra help.

The table below shows how much extra help you can get for 2010/11 and 2011/12 towards your fees and living costs.

For help with fees and maintenance, students from Northern Ireland should contact the student financial section at the Western Education and Library Board. Follow the link below for full contact information, or email student.awards@welbni.org.

Students from EU countries should apply to their home country for help with living costs.

If you are from a country outside the EU, you will not be eligible for a Dance and Drama Award. If you do apply to a private dance or drama school, you will have to pay all the tuition fees yourself.

How to apply for a Dance and Drama Award

To apply for an award, contact one of the 21 private dance and drama training schools.
