Apply for planning permission online

Submit a planning application online, complete an application form to send or continue with an existing application.

Overview

You can apply online using the Planning Portal website, the UK Government’s online planning and building resource.

Guidance on applications

The Planning Portal gives you step-by-step guidance and video explanations for making a number of different types of applications. These include:

  • full and outline planning permission
  • listed building and conservation area consent
  • lawful development certificates – this is proof that changes you make to a building are ‘permitted development’ (eg that certain work you do on your home without planning permission is legal)
  • advertisement consent

Submitting an application

The Planning Portal online service allows you to:

  • attach supporting documents to your application
  • work out the application fee and pay it securely
  • create and buy a location plan (sometimes known as a site location plan) – this shows the site area and its surrounding areas

How to apply

To apply follow the link below. You'll need to register with the Planning Portal website to submit and access details of an application.
