Plug-in car grant
From January 2011, a grant will be available to help with the cost of buying certain cars that run on greener fuels. Plug-in electric cars that meet the criteria will be eligible, and other technologies may be considered. Find out about eligible cars and the criteria they need to meet.
What is the plug-in car grant?
From January 2011, you will be able to apply for a grant towards the cost of buying a new electric car that meets certain criteria.
The level of the grant will be 25 per cent of the cost of the car, to a maximum of £5,000. This level has been agreed until 31 March 2012, when the grant will be reviewed.
