This opportunity is offered over a period of 13 weeks, with the potential for the internship to be extended or the offer of a permanent role following a successful project.
The host business is looking for a recent graduate to join them as a Junior Developer & System Administrator (Unix/Amazon AWS). You will be developing the infrastructure to host the cloud based content management system and communications mediation server using the following technologies: UNIX (Amazon Linux) Bash Scripting Various Amazon AWS hosting services Cloud hosted version control Development will be using agile methodologies in a test driven development environment. You will be working on infrastructure that hosts the cloud based elements of a suite of applications that mediate communications between a cloud-hosted rich content management studio and all major mobile platforms. By undertaking the internship you will gain exposure to: Mentoring from team leads, senior developers, technical architects and enterprise architects Real-world software development Modern development methodologies Working in a team environment Architectures, tools and frameworks in common commercial usage. You will receive a training allowance of £860 every 4 weeks, free from Tax and National Insurance deductions. |

Skills required
You will be a recent graduate, having completed a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or similar, or a numerate based degree such as Mathematics, Physics, Biology, Chemistry or similar. You will have experience of UNIX fundamentals, Linux development, basic software design & implementation; strong communication including strong spoken & written English; strong desire to learn new technologies and ways of working and overall an enthusiasm for software development. It would be an advantage to have some exposure to Amazon AWS and knowledge of Cloud security. |
