Carotid artery stenosis is a condition that you may need to tell the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) about. Whether or not you need to tell DVLA will depend on what type of driving licence you hold. Find out if you need to tell DVLA about your condition.
If you hold a car or motorcycle driving licence - you will not need to tell DVLA about the treatment.
However, you should stop driving for two days after the treatment. You may drive after this time providing you have no other disqualifying condition. If unsure, you will need to check with your doctor or consultant who will be able to advise you.
If you hold a bus, coach or lorry driving licence - you will need to tell DVLA about your treatment.
To tell DVLA please download the medical questionnaire 'VOCH1' and send it to DVLA.
You can send your completed questionnaire to DVLA by fax or post.
