Angina is a condition that you may need to tell the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) about. Telling DVLA will depend on what type of driving licence you hold. Find out if you need to tell DVLA about your condition.
If you hold a car or motorcycle driving licence - you will not need to tell DVLA about your medical condition.
You may continue to drive if you have angina (regardless of the need for medication) unless it occurs at rest, while driving or with emotion. If it does, you must stop driving and only restart once your symptoms are under control.
For further information please download the leaflet 'CLE1066'.
If you hold a bus, coach or lorry driving licence - you will need to tell DVLA about your medical condition.
To tell DVLA please download the medical questionnaire 'VOCH1' and send it to DVLA.
You can send your completed questionnaire to DVLA by fax or post.
