Caesarean section and driving

Caesarean section is a condition that you do not need to tell the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency (DVLA) about.

You should stop driving after this procedure and only restart driving when your doctor tells you that you are safe to do so. Check your insurance cover to see if there are any restrictions about driving after a caesarean, as some insurance companies require your GP to certify you fit to drive. Most women do not feel fit to drive for a few weeks after a caesarean, and many wait till after the six week check.
