It seems it never just rains in our country but it pours.
We think there’s more water than we could ever need, but we have less water available per person than Italy or Greece.
The water use of the average household is already enough for around 2,000 cups of tea every day and total household demand is forecast to rise even further.
We all need to act now to stop wasting water.
We can’t convert the sea that surrounds us into usable water without using huge amounts of energy and increasing CO2 emissions. The more water we heat in the home the greater our carbon footprint becomes.
There are actions that we can all take that save water, protect the natural environment and make little difference to our daily lives, like:
