    If you write to HMRC you will need to quote their reference number, or give the full name and date of death of the person who has died.

    HMRC Inheritance Tax has specialist compliance offices in Edinburgh and Belfast. If your case is being dealt with by one of these offices, they will give you the correct address when they write to you.
