Blue Flag

The Blue Flag programme is a voluntary eco-label awarded to beaches and marinas that meet a specific set of criteria concerning environmental information, education and management, water quality, safety and services. Beaches are assessed during the season preceding that in which the awards are given. The water is monitored by the Environment Agency and tested against standards set in the EC Bathing Water Directive.
