The UK Border Agency is a new shadow agency of the Home Office. It is responsible for border control for the UK, and enforcing immigration and customs regulations. It also considers applications for permission to enter or stay in the UK, citizenship and asylum. The UK Border Agency came into existence on 1 April 2023 following the merging of the Border and Immigration Agency, UKvisas and the port of entry functions of HM Revenue and Customs.
